Come escape to Kurt’s cabin, on 40 acres of private wooded land, located right in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest near Munising Michigan.  Modern 3BR/2BA home with all the amenities of new construction, including stainless appliances, dishwasher, microwave, and ice maker. Finished rec room with a pullout sofa sleeps 2. House also features a wood-burning fireplace and a sauna! Bring your toys and enjoy the nearby fishing lakes, snowmobile trails, hunting land, ATV trails, hiking, snow-shoeing, and kayaking. You won’t find such a unique and comfortable home.

  • Is Kurt's Cabin surrounded by neighbors?

    No, the cabin is located on 50+ acres of private property and is secluded from any close neighbors. You may occasionally see a neighbor in the winter when the trees are bare, but otherwise you will have the peace and quiet of the property all to yourself.

  • How far is the nearest grocery store?

    The nearest grocery store is forest glen general store about 10 minutes away, though you can find several other grocery stores in Munising 15 minutes away. 

  • What do you do to prevent bugs in the summer?

    While there may be few harmless insects that get through our defenses and into the cabin, it is regularly treated to minimize the presence of spiders, mosquitoes, ticks, and other insects.

  • Is the grill gas or charcoal?

    Our grill is a gas grill and is perfect for preparing delicious and succulent meals for the entire family. Our goal is to keep vacation simple and stress-free for all! :-)

  • What are your dog policies?

    Dogs are welcome at Kurt's Cabin and stay free when you book directly with us!  All dogs on the property are expected to be well-behaved, good around unfamiliar people, and non-aggressive/destructive.  Dogs must also be registered with the completion of a dog agreement. An extra cleaning fee of $100/dog applies to preserve the cleanliness of the property for the next guests. This property has a limit of 2 dogs unless otherwise approved.


  • What are your payment and cancellation policies?

    50% of your total is due at the time of booking to reserve your dates.  30 days prior to check-in, your card will be charged for the remainder of your balance.  Should you need to cancel, please let us know at least 30 days prior to your stay and you will receive a 97% refund on anything paid (we recoup 3% of what is paid to cover credit card costs).  We also offer and encourage trip insurance after booking for guests who would like that extra peace of mind.

    Wow, what a fantastic place to stay while on a snowmobile trip in the UP. Owner was on the ball, always available for questions and his answers all revolved around our comfort. Best "host" we have ever had by far. The cabin was spotless and all amenities listed were operational and often excided our expectations. That sauna has me shopping for one to install in our home back in Pittsburgh. My family and i wanna thank the crew that maintains the property. Finding folks that take that level of pride in what they put out into the world is getting tough. This group reminds of whats possible when a family works together to accomplish a common goal. Can't say enough positive things about how clean, and well thought out everything was. My family and i  look forward to our next stay at this property. Dont hesitate, book early, you wont be sorry.

    Cleanest air bnb I have been in in years. Really fantastic how clean it is considering it is dog friendly ❣️. Beautiful remote location…. Gorgeous tall pines surrounding the property. Loved the modern easy to use sauna that actually gets HOT. The hosts were very helpful regarding a winter storm we encountered. 10/10 !

    Kurts place was perfect and the location was wonderful.  We brought our side by side and there were trails everywhere.  It's also an easy ride into town to enjoy some breweries and bars.  We took in pictured rocks and some waterfalls and we enjoyed that.  We loved that Kurts place was remote and he had everything you'd need for a weekend.  We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and the night sky was so beautiful.  We'd like to return again next season.  Thank you for keeping in touch with us during our stay.
